YHI affiliated. Popular with budget Costa Ricans. Has a bar/restaurant and watch out for Thursday nights when karaoke can go on quite late.

Nineteenth century house with attractive frontage. Pretty shabby on the inside, basic rooms, cheap rates. Also has an annexe on the other side of the street called Hotel Casa Real which has private rooms with bathroom.

Set well back from the highway so noise is not a problem. An airy corridor lined with rocking chairs leads to private rooms with bathroom. Used to be a lumber mill. Spacious, clean rooms.
